InsulStar®
InsulStar® is a high-performance 2lb/ft3 density, closed-cell polyurethane spray foam insulation for residential construction applications.as a liquid to residential walls, ceilings, attics or floors.

How InsulStar Works
InsulStar® foam insulation is a two-part liquid, formulated from renewable agricultural resources, that is sprayed in place by specially trained GoldStarSM contractors. This liquid quickly expands, filling all gaps and voids, and cures to form a fully adhered, solid, monolithic insulation envelope that is a highly effective air barrier and moisture vapor retarder. InsulStar’s® high R-value allows designers to reduce the depth of exterior walls and still obtain high energy efficiency.
The Challenge
Builders and homeowners are increasingly aware that without a proper air and moisture barrier, homes are vulnerable to water damage, air leaks, and condensation that can lead to mold growth. This not only threatens the building structure but also increases energy costs and reduces comfort.
The Solution
InsulStar® is a 2lb/ft³ density, closed-cell polyurethane foam insulation that is applied as a liquid to walls, ceilings, attics, and floors. It expands and cures in place, forming a seamless insulating membrane that blocks air, noise, and moisture. The closed-cell structure controls moisture vapor, preventing condensation and mold growth. InsulStar® is also antimicrobial, inhibiting bacteria and fungus growth (ASTM C 1338), though it doesn't protect occupants from external mold or spores.

The End Result
InsulStar® provides superior insulation, improving energy efficiency and reducing heating and cooling costs. By insulating directly to the roof deck, previously unused attic space can become valuable living areas—like bonus rooms or closets—adding market value with minimal cost. It’s a high-performance, low-maintenance solution for a more comfortable, energy-efficient home.

Why InsulStar?
Higher R-Value
Provides a higher R-value than conventional insulation, lowering energy bills and reducing energy consumption, thereby lessening your carbon footprint.
Structural Strength
Strengthens walls and increases overall structural integrity by adhering and bonding to the wall surface, so buildings last longer and don’t need to be replaced as often.
Improved Air Quality
Helps block dust and pollutants, and inhibits mold and bacteria growth (per ASTM C1338), contributing to healthier indoor air.
Resource Conservation
Requires only 2” x 4” studs, reducing lumber use and saving an average of two to three trees per home compared to 2” x 6” studs used with batt insulation.
Design and Durability
Does not settle, shrink, compress, or sag, maintaining insulation efficiency for the life of the structure.
Environmentally Friendly
Contains no ozone-depleting chemicals and is recognized by the EPA for contributions to ozone protection.
