How InsulStar Light Works

InsulStar® Light insulation is a two-part liquid, water-blown, polyurethane foam insulation system that is applied by specially trained GoldStar certified contractors. It is sprayed in place and quickly expands, sealing construction gaps and filling voids as it cures to form a fully adhered, solid, monolithic cellular insulation. InsulStar® Light provides a highly effective air seal that functions as a noise-, dust-, and pollen-barrier, resulting in greater comfort and healthier indoor air with lower operating cost. InsulStar® Light will not settle, shrink, or deteriorate, and the superior performance will be there for the life of the home.

The Challenge: Meeting Modern Insulation Demands

Comfort and energy costs depend on effective insulation, but traditional materials often fail to meet today’s standards. Poor thermal performance leads to higher utility bills, uncomfortable drafts, and exposure to airborne pollutants. Owners and builders need an affordable, sustainable solution that lowers energy costs and improves indoor air quality.

The Solution: A Smarter Approach to Building Efficiency

InsulStar® Light is an open-cell foam insulation that provides superior thermal and air sealing performance. When applied as a liquid, it expands rapidly to fill gaps and voids, creating a seamless, fully adhered layer of insulation that is both highly effective and long-lasting. This unique application process ensures that every corner and crevice of the building is sealed, significantly improving energy efficiency and reducing the need for frequent maintenance.

The Result: Enhanced Comfort and Lasting Value

InsulStar® Light delivers energy-efficient, low-maintenance buildings that reduce utility costs and improve comfort. It turns wasted attic space into usable areas like offices or playrooms, adding value with minimal investment. In existing buildings, it seals vented attics and optimizes HVAC efficiency, creating long-term savings and healthier living spaces.
