Concrete Leveling

Concrete and its supporting soil settle and shift over time. If not treated properly, it can lead to expensive damage and potential safety hazards. At NCFI, we offer a suite of geotechnical polyurethanes that provide exceptional lift control and reliability for any concrete repair need.

Concrete Lifting and Stabilization

Concrete leveling or slab jacking is a cost-effective and minimally invasive alternative to tearing out and replacing concrete slabs. When minor erosion or poor compaction of surface soils causes settlement, this technique is fast and easy. Polyurethane foam grout is injected through small holes, typically 3/8" - 5/8", to fill voids and compact surface soils enough to support the lifting action that the expansion of the polyurethane foam provides. As the foam expands, it lifts the concrete back as close to original elevation as possible. Then, the holes are patched with a non-shrink patch material and the affected area is ready to walk, drive, or play on in about 20 minutes.

Warning Signs of Concrete Settlement

Sinking Concrete Slabs

Sunken or uneven concrete surfaces often indicate soil settling or erosion beneath the slab, commonly caused by poor compaction or water intrusion.

Visible Cracks

Cracks—whether small hairlines or larger fissures—can signal movement or voids developing under the concrete surface.

Door and Window Misalignment

Doors or windows that stick, jam, or appear misaligned may be symptoms of foundation movement affecting the concrete slab.

Standing Water

Water pooling on or around concrete surfaces can be more than a nuisance; it often indicates low spots created by settled slabs or failing joints that allow moisture to seep underneath, further weakening the supporting soils.

Common Uses of Polyurethane for Concrete Leveling

Trip Hazard Repair

Trip hazards caused by sunken or raised concrete sections, exposed slab edges, or uneven joints present safety risks and potential legal liabilities, with the ADA defining any vertical change over ¼ inch as a hazard. Our polyurethane systems enable contractors to efficiently address uneven or cracked concrete surfaces by providing fast, reliable concrete leveling solutions that minimize disruption to properties or businesses, helping contractors deliver peace of mind to their clients.

Garage Floor Leveling

Settlement of garage floors often results from compaction or soil loss beneath the slab, creating voids and causing the slab to settle. Contractors can utilize our expanding polyurethane products to fill these voids and exert upward force, lifting garage slabs back to grade while reestablishing soil load-bearing capacity. With fast cure times and no need for excavation, our systems support contractors in delivering efficient, durable garage floor leveling solutions to their customers.

Driveway Leveling

Uneven driveways compromise vehicle safety and curb appeal. Our polyurethane injection materials provide a minimally invasive, rapid means for contractors to level concrete driveways—often within hours—ensuring driveways are smooth and secure. Backed by stringent quality controls, these products empower contractors to lift and stabilize driveway slabs with minimal disruption to homeowners.

Parking Lot Leveling

High traffic concrete parking lots frequently experience settlement from poorly compacted soils or erosion, jeopardizing safety and usability. Our polyurethane solutions allow contractors to fill subsurface voids, compact loose soil, and lift slabs close to their original grade efficiently and cost-effectively. While asphalt can be more challenging, it can also be stabilized using these materials, helping contractors avoid costly full replacements and minimizing business interruption for their clients.

Rocking Concrete Slab Repair

Rocking slabs (those that shift or tilt under load) typically result from soil erosion or ground settling beneath the concrete. Using NCFI Geotechnical Polyurethanes, contractors can stabilize and realign these slabs by injecting material through the slab into the voids, restoring soil support and stopping movement. This approach safeguards high-traffic areas and equipment such as forklifts, delivering long-term slab stabilization.

Solutions for Any Project

Beyond the applications highlighted above, our geotechnical polyurethane solutions can be utilized in light and heavy-duty applications, making them suitable for residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure applications. Our team will work with you to find the right foam formulation for your unique needs.

The Advantages of Polyurethane in Concrete Leveling

Fast Cure Times

The quick cure times of our polyurethane systems ensure that projects can be completed quickly, reducing or eliminating downtime completely. Most projects can have foot or vehicle traffic flowing by the time the crew cleans up and is off site.

No Excavation

There’s no need to dig up or disrupt surrounding infrastructure, which reduces labor costs, project duration, and environmental impact.

Environmentally Inert

Our polyurethane systems are environmentally safe, with no leaching of harmful chemicals into soil or groundwater.

Weather Resistant

Freezing temperatures and moisture will not cause the polyurethane solution to erode or wash away.

Safety

Smooth and level walkways, driveways, and foundations are crucial in ensuring the safety and structural integrity of buildings and those who occupy it.

Made in America

NCFI polyurethane is proudly manufactured in the U.S., ensuring quality and reliability.

Frequently Asked Questions about Polyurethane Injection for Concrete Leveling

Polyurethane injection involves injecting expanding structural foam beneath sunken concrete slabs to lift and reestablish structural support. It offers a fast, non-invasive alternative to traditional concrete replacement.

Structures can typically bear weight within 15–30 minutes after injection. The rapid cure time makes polyurethane ideal for residential, commercial, and industrial settings requiring quick return to service.

NCFI’s polyurethane systems are used to level sidewalks, driveways, garage floors, patios, pool decks, warehouse slabs, and other load-bearing structures.

When injected properly, NCFI’s polyurethane provides a long-term solution. It is resistant to water, erosion, and environmental degradation.

NCFI formulates its polyurethane with field performance in mind. Each batch is subjected to strict quality assurance protocols and supported by decades of application data and training programs.

NCFI’s polyurethane injection offers a fast, clean, and minimally disruptive solution with precision lifting capabilities. It requires fewer crew members, less equipment, and smaller injection holes than traditional methods.

No. The injection process uses small, strategically placed holes and does not require demolition or heavy machinery, preserving landscaping and existing structures.
