WV Pipeline Trench Breakers

Problem

• The contractor needed pipeline pads and pillows for 1,400 feet of pipeline on a 58-degree hillside in rural West Virginia in challenging weather conditions.
• Traditional solutions, such as sandbags, were difficult to transport and presented long-term risk due to erosion and decay of sandbags over time
• Installation and labor safety concerns over constant rain and severe erosion of freshly turned earth

Solution

• The contractor selected the Strata-Fil 24-023 Trench Break polyurethane Winched small box truck up the mountain to construct the hand-sprayed ‘pads and pillows’ with an impingement gun
• Material could be installed during inclement weather, due to fast cure time and minimal labor requirements
